WILLIAM DJOKO x ONIONLAB
THURSDAY 2 MAY 2019
Amsterdam-based DJ and producer William Djoko, renowned for his heady blend of house, footwork and rugged motor-city techno, will collaborate with Barcelona’s Onionlab, a design studio specialised in interactive audiovisual and virtual reality experiences, to curate a visceral and entirely new soundscape fuelled by the energy of the city and set within an immersive light installation, later evolving into a night of William behind the decks.
Amsterdam-based DJ and producer born to entertain, Djoko grew up heavily influenced by his Cameroonian father's African music collection and his Ukranian mother's love of disco. His heady blend of house, rugged motor-city techno and footwork has seen him play at Dekmantel, DC10 and London's Printworks and Shelter, the Amsterdam hotspot who he holds a long-standing residency with earned support from imprints Rush Hour, Voyage Direct, Tuskegee and NYC's Strictly Rhythm, and secured him a regular spot at Ibiza's Circoloco. Music is not Djoko's only vice: in 2018 he collaborated with Vogue-affirmed, leading Moroccan fashion designer Amine Bendriouich for an editorial shoot at Oasis Festival and in 2019 joined good friend and label boss Loco Dice to perform at Paris Fashion Week.

Born in the mountains of Colombia and based in Barcelona, Sano is a DJ and musician who grew up in the early underground music scene of Medellín. Drawing inspiration from the rawness and mysticism of sounds from the street, since 2011 Sano has been a regular on Berlin's much-hyped Cómeme label with his self-titled debut LP, RIONEGRO - a collaborative project with label founder Matías Aguayo alongside Gladkazuka - and more recently has released a new body of work of obscure, down-pitched acid rhythms under Munich based imprint Public Possession.
Daughter of a Venezuelan musician and record collector from her early years, VIR's love affair with music started back in the late '90s living in New York and heavily influenced by music from the city's underground. Bold and brash on the decks, she's renowned for her eclectic taste (everything from funk to hip-hop and of course, house). She's been lucky to share a DJ booth with the likes of Jayda G, Nicola Cruz, Lil Louis, Mr G, Quantic, Marco Carola and Horse Meet Disco to name a few, and this year gears up to unveil her latest project Shakti Allanase at European festival favourite, Primavera Sound.
